Increasing supplier diversity means taking a fresh look at how to capitalize on existing technology contracts and create new partnerships. By hosting three “MWBE Technology Sector Jumpstart Events”, during the last 18 months, CIO/OFT has been instrumental in connecting MWBE technology providers with major IT companies serving New York State.
More about Technology Supplier Diversity
CIO/OFT’s goal is to raise the level of minority and women-owned business involvement in state technology purchases to 15% by the end 2009 and 20% by the end of 2010. To achieve this goal, CIO/OFT hosts and facilitates events to create opportunities for MWBE technology businesses to collaborate and form lasting business partnerships with prime technology vendors to provide services to NYS. In addition, CIO/OFT has partnered with other state agencies to increase the statewide MWBE participation.
Building partnerships with leading technology firms is critical to our success. Twenty-seven (27) global companies voluntarily pledging to achieve our 20% MWBE participation by 2010 goal and includes: Accenture, AVAYA, CGI, Cisco, Computer Aid, Dell, Deloitte, BearingPoint, Dun and Bradstreet, EDS, EMC, HP, IBM, Intel, Johnson Controls, Microsoft, Motorola, nfrastructure, Oracle, Qwest, SAIC, Siemens, Sun Microsystems, Tandberg, Unisys, CMA and Xerox.
Our Jumpstart attendees continually provide feedback on how the events are impacting their business. Hear what they have to say!
