CIO/OFT is responsible for leading strategic technology directions that can have a major impact on how government serves the people of New York. Our strategic technology initiatives are aligned with Governor David A. Paterson’s goals and strategies for the state.

• Aggregate and Enterprise Technology Procurements to reduce the cost of government.
• Empire 2.0 initiative to increase government transparency and citizen participation using new internet communications tools.
• Enterprise Technology Multiplex an innovative approach to consolidate and improve Data Center facilities and more.
• Financial Management System the statewide ERP initiative to increase government performance and accountability through a single, standardized system.
• Statewide Interoperability Program to improve the safety for the people of New York.
• Technology Supplier Diversity to increase the participation of minority and woman-owned businesses in the technology sector.
• Universal Broadband to help the people of New York connect and our businesses to be globally competitive.
• Workforce Development to build technology skills for the future.
