Enterprise IT Acquisition
|
Enterprise procurements lead to cost
savings.
Aggregate and enterprise purchase of IT services and products enables the state to leverage its buying power and saves taxpayer dollars.
To ensure the most efficient delivery of quality services to New Yorkers, state government invests in information technology. CIO/OFT is fully engaged in pursuing opportunities to leverage the state's purchase of computer hardware, software and technology consulting services.
| What's Happening? |
Enterprise IT contracts are in place for Oracle and McAfee, Inc. There are "aggregate" agreements for PCs and printers.
On September 25, 2009, CIO/OFT hosted a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for vendors to participate and gain information on the Enterprise IT Staff Augmentation RFP.

More about Enterprise Technology Purchases
New York State strives to manage its technology investments to leverage the state's buying and create value for delivering better government services across the State enterprise. State agencies are required to notify CIO/OFT of planned technology purchases. CIO/OFT uses this knowledge to coordinate enterprise license agreements (ELAs).
ENTERPRISE LICENSE AGREEMENTS (ELAs):
Several ELAs are currently available. 1) The Oracle contract allows covered agencies to purchase programs and services for individual agency use and also for renewal of program maintenance and support. 2) The agreement with McAfee, Inc. to utilize their security products for servers, PCs and laptops. 3) Aggregate purchasing for PCs is available through several vendors. 4) Aggregate purchasing for printers is available as of July 18, 2009.
