Communication via today’s Internet includes new Web 2.0 collaboration tools like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, wikis and blogs. New York State government has a new way to connect with its citizens, becoming more transparent and accountable.


What's Happening?

On June 5th, the New York State Office of the Chief Information Officer announced a new initiative titled "Empire 2.0". This initiative is modeled after President Obama's strategy on open government outlined in his "Memorandum on Transparency and Open Government". Several NY government agencies have begun using these tools.
