Enhanced e-Learning Program Provides Convenient and Cost-Effective Training for State Employees
The New York State CIO/OFT Technology Academy is pleased to announce an exciting new training opportunity called Empire Knowledgebank. Empire Knowledgebank is an enhanced e-learning program that provides a convenient and cost-effective way for state employees to continue training and developing their professional skills right from their desktop.
Empire Knowledgebank has new volume-based discount pricing, leading to significant savings for all participating agencies. For example, an employee will have unlimited access to more than 3,000 courses for approximately $50 annually, per employee. With an aggregate purchase of 7,500 licenses, the cost will only be about $20 annually, per employee.
By arranging all training requests through the NYS Technology Academy agencies can achieve the discounted volume pricing and share in the savings. Last year, more than 50 government entities participated in the e-learning programs provided by the Technology Academy. With reduced travel and training budgets that number is expected to increase as organizations explore the benefits of e-learning.
Empire Knowledgebank has expanded course offerings as well. In addition to the many IT, Desktop, Professional Development and Mainframe courses, the following “add-on” course libraries are now available: Red Vector for design and construction professionals; Care2Learn for healthcare professionals; Environment, Safety and Health courses; and a library covering Human Resource Compliance topics. The additional libraries were added in direct response to agency requests.
With increasing demands and a shrinking workforce, enhancing employee skills to increase productivity is an investment all agencies must make. Empire Knowledgebank can help agencies meet many training needs with minimal investment. To learn more, a YouTube video is available at: http://www.youtube.com/user/nystatecio.
